Roku users, if Sling TV is not responding, giving you a black screen, or just plain freezing—this is the place to compare notes. Reports have been rolling in about issues specific to Roku devices, especially after recent app or system updates.
Common problems include:
App launching to a black screen with no audio/video
Sling app freezing on the logo
App crashes that return you to the Roku home menu
Channel guide loads, but no streams play
These issues can often be fixed with some quick troubleshooting:
Restart Roku: Go to Settings > System > Power > System Restart
Remove and reinstall Sling: Home > highlight Sling TV > press * > Remove channel, then re-add from the Roku Channel Store
Clear Roku cache: Home (press 5x) > Up (1x) > Rewind (2x) > Fast Forward (2x)
Check for software updates: Settings > System > System update
